Over 493,000 students prepare to take the Baccalaureate exams this year

Over 493,000 students are preparing to take the Baccalaureate exams in Morocco this year, marking the end of their secondary education. The exams, a crucial step towards higher education, are scheduled for June 2024.

According to Minister of National Education, Pre-primary Education, and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa, a significant majority of students, about 73%, are enrolled in science and technology streams, while 26% are in the literature. This year, a record 54% of the candidates are female, highlighting the growing participation of women in education.

The exams will be held in two stages. The first stage, known as the regional exam, will take place on June 5th and 6th. The national exam, the final stage, will be held from June 10th to 13th, with results expected to be announced on June 26th.

Benmoussa also highlighted the increasing number of students opting for international pathways, with nearly 55% of candidates enrolled in such programs.
