Digital development was at the heart of talks held Friday in Marrakech between the Director General of Morocco’s Agency for Digital Development (ADD), Mohammed Drissi Melyani, and the U.S. Consul General in Casablanca, Marissa D. Scott.

These discussions, held on the sidelines of Gitex Africa, focused on opportunities for collaboration in the area of digital development, in particular the promotion of ecosystems, investment in the digital economy and social inclusion.

Held under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI, Gitex Africa, which runs through May 31, features over 1,500 exhibitors representing more than 130 countries. The event is intended as a hub for exchanges on the latest technological developments.

Initiated by Kaoun International, the international subsidiary of Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), and supported by the Digital Development Agency under the authority of the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, the exhibition is the largest tech and start-up show in Africa, with the participation of world-renowned experts and specialists, as well as political decision-makers.
