Butane gas cylinder prices remain unchanged for the moment, government spokesman Mustapha Baitas confirmed during the weekly press briefing.

Baitas clarified that the government has not yet made any decision regarding a price increase.

He emphasized that “any future decision will be clearly communicated through official channels.”

Baita also reaffirmed the Moroccan government’s commitment to institutionalized social dialogue, by approving the scheduling of two dialogue sessions in the year with the most representative central unions, the first in April and the second in September.

“All issues related to the Moroccan workforce have been studied and discussed by the government with the unions in the last April meeting,” he disclosed.

Baitas elaborated further stating that the head of the government has tasked committees to discuss all these issues with the union’s central bodies, which are currently working towards reaching an agreement that will be announced soon.”

As to social support, the government spokesman underscored that it is structured and regulated by laws, decrees, and conditions that must be met by citizens to receive financial assistance.

He explained that if any of the conditions are not met, the support process will be reviewed.

Baitas revealed that 4 million households receive direct social financial support, which is governed by law and decree that specify the eligibility conditions.

“It is imperative to adhere to the legal requirements governing the process of benefiting from the support,” he emphasized.

Regarding the ongoing boycott of classes by medical and pharmacy students, now entering its fourth month, the government spokesperson confirmed that relevant ministers from both the Higher Education and Health sectors have answered the questions raised on this subject.
