Morocco beat Angola 1-0 in Agadir for Brahim Diaz’s first appearance for the national team. The Atlas Lions expressed a certain satisfaction at having won this first friendly match, and remain focused on achieving a better score against Mauritania.

Brahim Diaz was keen to talk about his first steps in the Atlas Lions jersey. The Real Madrid player put in a solid performance.

“I’m happy and proud to be here, proud to see the love I’m getting from the public and to see my family here with me. It’s a source of pride,” he declared at the end of the match.

Eliesse Ben Seghir, the young talent from AS Monaco who impressed the fans with his touches on the ball, was equally proud to be playing in front of the Moroccan people.

“It’s a great source of pride for me to have been able to take part in this match with a clean sheet at the Stade d’Agadir, which is a positive result in preparation for future matches,” he stated.

For his part, Yahya Attiat-Allah, author of the decisive pass that led to the goal, felt that this victory was a strong morale boost for the group, as it came after the early elimination from the African Cup, affirming that the group will continue to work seriously for more results.

For his part, Achraf Hakimi pointed out that the national team has a number of new players who need time to settle into the squad. He praised the good performance on the pitch throughout the ninety minutes.

The PSG player is aware that it takes time to create the necessary harmony between the players, and that the aim is to prepare well in order to win the African Cup title that Morocco will host next year.

The Moroccan team will face its Mauritanian counterpart in a second friendly next Tuesday, at the Stade Adrar in Agadir.
