“Damane”, an association set up by Moroccan executives living in Switzerland, launched a program designed to support development projects in Morocco and Africa during its annual conference, held in Geneva on Friday under the theme “Inspiring change in entrepreneurship and society.”

“Damane” brings together a committed network of Moroccan investors and experts from Switzerland and around the world who share a resolve to foster the socio-economic development of Morocco and Africa through tangible, high-impact projects.

The idea is the result of a shared ambition to support and promote entrepreneurial projects in Morocco and Africa, with a special focus on initiatives led by or for women and by Moroccans in the diaspora,” according to the association’s president, Ichrak Bennani.

This associative framework is mobilized to work on integrated axes at the service of development dynamics in Morocco, ranging from the provision of advice and skills training through networking and innovative financing to the promotion of women’s entrepreneurship and the strengthening of strategic partnerships,” she said.

Members of the association’s committee stressed the importance of promoting sustainable entrepreneurship to contribute to global development and help to build a stronger social fabric, with an emphasis on empowering women.

On the occasion of this annual conference, “Damane” and the Association Professionnelle pour l’Entrepreneuriat Féminin, chaired by Rachida Bouzit El Mernissi, signed a partnership agreement to work together to support project leaders, particularly those contributing to the empowerment of women.
