The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the 48th edition of the Hassan II Trophy and the 27th edition of the Lalla Meryem Golf Cup at the Dar Es Salam Royal Golf Club in Rabat, under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI.

On this occasion, Chakib Benmoussa, Minister of National Education, Preschool Learning and Sports, told the press that the signing of this memorandum is part of his department’s strategy to promote school sports, including golf, as a means of enshrining positive values among pupils, improving their skills and prospecting budding talent.

The organization of this event in Morocco reflects the place occupied by Morocco, under the wise leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, among the pioneering countries in the field of sport, and reflects the interest shown by the Sovereign in sport in the Kingdom, particularly school sport, he stressed.

The official noted that Morocco has become a benchmark for the organization of major school sports events, highlighting the success of the World School Football Championship held in July 2023 and the Gymnasiade held in Marrakech in 2018.

For his part, Laurent Petrynka, president of the International School Sports Federation, expressed his deep gratitude to Morocco for hosting three editions of the World Schools Golf Championship, highlighting HM King Mohammed VI’s enlightened vision in organizing major sporting events.

He also expressed his satisfaction with this initiative, which will consolidate relations between the International School Sports Federation and Morocco.
