Seven Moroccan referees expected to officiate at the Cote d’Ivoire Africa Cup of Nations

Seven Moroccan referees are expected to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire, which will take place from January 13th to February 11th, 2024, according to a statement released by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).

The Confederation of African Football (CAF), according to the same source, unveiled the names of referees and assistant referees who will officiate at the upcoming edition of the Africa Cup of Nations.

The list includes referee Bouchra Karkoubi, who is the only female referee on the list, along with Jalal Jayed and Samir Guezzaz.

The CAF also announced the participation of Mostafa Akarkad and Lahsen Azgaou as assistant referees in the tournament.

As to the list of VAR referees, the list included the names of Zakaria Brinzi and Redouane Jiyed.

The 68 experienced match officials selected from across Africa will oversee the upcoming CAF international competition.

The officials, including 26 referees, 30 assistant referees, and 12 VAR referees, will undergo a refresher course on 5 January 2024 in Cote d’Ivoire, including physical and theoretical testing.
